Tieto (grunnlagt 1968) + Enator (grunnlagt 1995) = TietoEnator (1999) => Tieto Dec. 2008
Fra og med 1. desember 2008, ble Tieto lansert som det nye merkevarenavnet. The offisielle navnet er inntil videre TietoEnator Corporation.
TietoEnator Corporation ble dannet ved en sammenslåing av Tieto Corporation i Finland og Enator AB (publ) i Sverige den 7. juli 1999.
Etter sammenslåingen har Tieto styrket sin bransjekunnskap ved å kjøpe opp følgende IT selskaper og enheter:
